We are looking for a contemporary piece for our program “The way to freedom”
The program features composers like Arvo Pärt, Erwin Schulhoff and Dmitri Shostakovich, who could not work in freedom due to the political situation in their home country.
Who can apply?
Composers who had to flee their home country .
There is no age limit.
What are we looking for?
a work for saxophone quartet (soprano-, alto-, tenor -baritone – saxophone) of 3-5 minutes length
A work that can be performed withou additional technical support
What is the prize?
at least 5 performances in our program “The way to freedom”
next to compositions of Shostakovich, Schulhoff and Pärt.
Deadline & Jury
Deadline for subscription is 15th of august 2016
The jury consists of the members of the Berlage Saxophone Quartet and external advice by composer Klaas de Vries and saxophonist/composer Jean-Denis Michat
The winner will be announced the 1st of september 2016
