Louis-Philippe Bonin — Alto and Tenor Saxophone
Louis-Philippe Bonin holds a bachelor’s degree in classical saxophone performance under the musical direction of Jean-François Guay. Interested particularly in contemporary music without however neglecting repertory classics, Mr Bonin works closely with emerging composers, adding to the rich repertoire of the instrument. He has attended classes with Jean-François Guay, Marie-Bernadette Charrier, Jean-Yves Fourmeau and Jean-Michel Goury. This has led him to perform in conjunction with important ensembles such as the Quatuor de Saxophones Nota Bene and the Ensemble Paramirabo with whom he premiered ”Ishtar”, for tenor saxophone and ensemble, by Frédéric Chiasson. He is preparing for postgraduate study with saxophonist Jean-Michel Goury in Boulogne, France. Mr Bonin plays exclusively with YAMAHA saxophones and is a endorsing artist for LÉGÉRE reeds.
