Joan Martí-Frasquier Joan Martí-Frasquier — baritone saxophone Héctor Parra — Time Fields 1 Sergio Fidemraizer — Va I Vé Sixto M. Herrero Rodes — Hendia Joan Martí-Frasquier is a virtuoso performer very much involved in the new artistic experiences of today’s music. “We were touched by the faultless and emotive performance of the young saxophonist Joan Martí” (Revista Musical Catalana, n. 248). He has premiered works by several Catalan composers and his intense performances have taken him to different countries in West Europe with different chamber groups and instrumental ensembles. As a soloist he has played the Ibert’s Concertino da Camera, Caplet’s Légénde, Glazunov’s Concerto and several works for saxophone and band by Ferrer-Ferran, Binge and Naulais. With SAX 3+1 saxophone quartet and SIGMA TRIO (woodwind trio) he has been awarded several national and international chamber music competitions. He has recorded some CDs and he has published some videos of contemporary music for baritone saxophone on the internet. He has taught saxophone at the Conservatory of Reus since 2003. After graduating in saxophone in Barcelona, he continued his musical training in France for four years. He studied in the CRD of Bourges with Christophe Bois, in the CRR of Montpellier with Philippe Braquart and in the CRR of Limoges with Damien Royannais, who has been a major influence on his professional career.
