Craig Sylvern — Tenor Saxophone; Christopher Swist — Percussion
Craig Sylvern (tenor saxophone) and Christopher Swist (percussion) have been performing together for six years. During that time they have commissioned several works, several of which can be heard on their first CD that will be released this coming fall.
Craig is a Professor of Music at Keene State College, where he teaches applied saxophone, woodwind methods, and is the Coordinator of Music Technology. He has performed with many symphony orchestras and big bands throughout the United States, and has toured for many years with Keith Brion and his New Sousa Band. His compositions have had premieres throughout North America.
Christopher has taught percussion, composition, music theory, aural skills, counterpoint, and music technology at Keene State College since 2003. He is also on faculty at Holyoke Community College. He composes in a wide variety of genres that explore both the traditional and the experimental. His compositions have been performed across the United States and Canada as well as in Europe, Brazil and Argentina. They are published by Marimba Productions in the United States and by Edition Svitzer in Europe.
