Warren Benson’s Aeolian Song, from his “Concertino”, has long been a standard in the repertoire, and for good reason. It is exceptionally beautiful, and a joy to play. In addition to its more typically heard instrumentation for alto saxophone and piano, another version exists, for two saxophones, with the inclusion of a stunning soprano saxophone part. Benson wrote this version for Sigurd Rascher and his daughter, Carina, to perform together. For many years, the soprano part was presumed lost, however, we are pleased to present this recording of this stunning version of an exceptional piece in our repertoire. We hope you enjoy!
