Saxophone repairman Matt Stohrer of http://www.StohrerMusic.com gives a quick hand-me-down tip on how to make the tiny holes in the sides of pads sometimes left by pad pricks/pin vises go away. Now of course its best not to put holes in the sides of pads, but sometimes, as Sam said to Mister Frodo, there’s nothing for it. Except this tip of course, so you go and tell your old gaffer about THAT, Samwise Gamgee.
