Repairman’s Overview: 1928 Conn F Mezzo-soprano Saxophone

Saxophone repairman Matt Stohrer of http://www.StohrerMusic.com speaks in hushed and reverential tones about a rare and unusual saxophone, the ill-fated Conn Mezzo-soprano in the key of F.

Slightly smaller than an alto and speaking one whole tone higher, the F Mezzo-soprano was introduced just before the start of the Great Depression and never really caught on, though it is a beautifully made and beautifully playing saxophone.

For more information on these models, some high resolution photos, and where to buy this particular instrument (it is currently for sale at a very reputable dealer as of September 2012) see here: http://stohrermusic.com/?p=2240
