Playtest of Matt Stohrer Overhaul on 1954 Selmer Mark VI

Saxophone repairman Matt Stohrer of says «dude» a lot while he records the reaction of a customer playtesting his horn after receiving a full mechanical overhaul on his 1954 Selmer Mark VI. The challenge with this horn was that it played a little stuffy and dark for the player’s wishes and lacked power. Matt completely rebuilt the mechanics, straightened a couple of body bends, resealed the neck tenon connection and used oversize brass resonators on a fresh set of pads with moderately open key heights to improve response, feel, and add a lot of projection and power and as you can see the customer seems pretty happy with the result.
