Double Sided Mallet

The design for this delrin mallet comes directly from Josh Grant working at station 1 in the Sax ProShop. He uses this mallet every day for straightening solid pivot keys. Josh’s mallet allows you to instantly change the size of your mallet head with the flip of your wrist. Normally, when you are tapping the length of a solid key on a block and are nearing the key arm, you must flip the key over to get closer to the key arm. This can be cumbersome with larger keys. With Josh’s mallet you simply twist the handle to change to the smaller work surface. This allows you to get up close to the key arm instantly without flipping the key over. It might not seem like much, but this simple turn of the handle gives you maximum control over your work piece and allows you to keep your rhythm. The mallet is slightly weighted and well balanced for a comfortable grip, and the head is easily modified or machined if you want to change its shape. Recommended for solid pivot keys. Specs: Head diameter: 1.25″ (31.75 mm) Diameter of working surface: 0.25″ (6.36 mm) Overall weight: 5oz (142 grams) Handle Length: 9″ (23 cm)
