The Jean-Marie LONDEIX International Saxophone Competition is recognized as one of the most important and prestigious musical competitions in the world. The first competition was held in Bordeaux, France in 1996. The competition later found its home at the College of Music, Mahidol University, Thailand. Every three years saxophonists from all over the world gather on the campus to compete for the top prizes, but also to develop and share their friendship and to learn from each other and from the members of the international jury, presided over by legendary saxophonist and teacher Jean-Marie LONDEIX.
