In 1962, Charlie Byrd and Stan Getz recorded Jazz Samba. The album shook the world and popularized the fabulous Brazilian sound of bossa nova. Join international band, Veronneau, in celebrating the 50-year anniversary at All Souls Unitarian Church, where the original album was recorded.
Veronneau will perform songs from their new CD, Jazz Samba Project, inspired by the anniversary and 50 years of bossa nova music. A panel discussion follows, led by WPFW’s Candy Shannon. Hear intriguing new information about the historic album and the musical tidal wave that followed.
