Cha La Wan In The Wonderland is the second part of Beautiful Dimension set.
“Beautiful Dimensions” is composed in the conceptual set of 3 pieces. Each piece portrays different places; city, forest and sea.
I got the idea from Aesthetics class; what is the beauty? How do we judge the beauty? Why do people see the beauty in different dimensions?
I would like to show the beautiful dimension through rock music which is my favourite genre.

“Cha La Wan” is the name of crocodile from Thai folk tales. My idea is to create new music that combine the elements from Asian and Europe together. The title of this piece can express the meaning of the song, “Cha La Wan” presenting Asian culture. Such as some part that use pentatonic scale (we can find a lot in Thai folk music) and the instruments from backing-track that come from Thai tradition instruments. On the other hand, “Wonderland” presenting Europe culture. For example, in saxophone part I use extended techniques such as Multiphonic and Slap-Tongue. Chord progression and background orchestra music also present European as well.

Beautiful Dimension คือคอนเซ็ปท์เพลงชุด 3 เพลง แต่ละเพลงบรรยายถึงสถานที่ต่างกัน คือ 1. เมือง 2. ป่า 3. ทะเล
ไอเดียเกิดขึ้นตอนนั่งเรียนวิชาสุนทรียศาสตร์ อะไรคือความงาม? เราเอาอะไรมาตัดสินความงาม? และทำไมความงามของแต่ละคนถึงไม่เหมือนกัน? ก็เหมือนกับดนตรีแค่ลองเปลี่ยนจากความงามเป็นความไพเราะ
ส่วนตัวผมชอบดนตรี ร๊อค หรือ เมทัล จึงได้แต่งเพลงโดยการผสมกันระหว่างแซกโซโฟนเข้าดนตรีสไตล์ร๊อคขึ้นมา จึงได้เป็นเพลงชุดนี้ออกมา

“Cha La Wan In The Wonderland” เป็นเพลงที่เกิดจากการนำดนตรีไทย เพลงร๊อคและเทคนิคของแซกโซโฟนเข้ามารวมเอยู่ในเพลง คำว่า “Cha La Wan” ก็คือชื่อของจรเข้จากนิทานพื้นบ้านของไทยเรื่องไกรทอง “Wonderland” ก็คือชื่อของป่าที่มาจากนิทานพื้นบ้านของชาวตะวันตก เมื่อนำไอเดียต่างๆมารวมกัน ในส่วนของดนตรีไทยจะถูกส่งผ่านด้วยเครื่องดนตรีไทยเช่น ระนาด ฆ้อง ฉิ่ง โหม่ง กลองยาวเป็นต้น รวมถึง Pentatonic Sclae ที่อยู่ในทำนองของแซกโซโฟน ในส่วนของดรตรีตะวันตกจะถูกส่งผ่านด้วยเทคนิคต่างๆของแซกโซโฟนเช่น Multiphonic หรือ Slap-Tongue รวมไปถึงคอร์ดและเสียงประสานที่อยู่ในเพลง
