Succeeding Henri Pousseur, André Waignein and Jan Van der Roost, famous Belgian composer Dirk Brossé has been selected to write the compulsory work for the finals of the 8th Adolphe Sax International Competition. The Emmy Award-nominated composer has created a special piece on the occasion: Mantra Canto And Cappricio, a delicate work that reminds us of Bizet: “Only the saxophone could convey restrained affection and passion tinged with reserve”.
