From February 4-7th, the Superior School of Music and Performing Arts in Oporto sets the stage yet again for another International Saxophone Week including highly respected international artists that in this edition continues to surpass expectation. The week’s theme is Sax4ever – 15 years of saxophone at ESMAE. Joining the school’s staff is world-renowned saxophonist Christian Wirth of the acclaimed Habanera Quartet (France), Quatuor Morphing’s very own soprano Christophe Grezes (France) Joe Murphy (USA) and Matthieu Delage/Eddie Lopez & Anthony Malkoun (Quatuor Morphing). During the week a series of activities will take place not only for professionals and high-level students but for the public in general. Besides the masterclasses, workshops, lectures and individual lessons there will be a concert every evening at 21:30 in the Teatro Helena Sá e Costa (Rua da Escola Normal, ESMAE) with proposals that go from saxophone orchestras, chamber music and solo concerts.
