XX Szczecinek SaxFest

Szczecinek SaxFest is organised every year in Szczecinek, a beautiful and cosy city in north-western Poland. It is a unique opportunity for students to meet during a pleasant summer season and to improve their skills under the guidance of some of the best instrumentalists and pedagogues.
The lecturers we invite are excellent, world-renowned musicians who willingly devote their time
to teaching young, talented students.
Our goal is to help participants improve their performing (solo and chamber music) skills,
interpretation, musicality, knowledge of the repertoire through:
– practicing the repertoire proposed by them;
– joining instrumental ensembles;
– participation in concerts of lecturers and invited artists;
– performing concerts at the end of the festival.

Apart from master classes, there will be lectures, exhibitions, chamber and accompaniment classes,
jam sessions and an orchestra conducted by Gerald Preinfalk – a talented Austrian classical and jazz
saxophonist, at the same time a composer and arranger as well.
Participants who are interested in improvisation and jazz music will also have the opportunity to gain
knowledge in this field. Most importantly, the end of each day will be crowned with phenomenal
evening concerts of saxophone masters.
In addition, the festival offers participants the opportunity to discover the beauty of the Drawsko
Lake District, get to know the city and the history of the Szczecinek region closely, integrate with
their peers both during classes and in free time – by organising various types of recreation.
