The III Gran Canaria International Saxophone Competition 2023 is open to saxophonists of all nationalities who have not exceeded 30 years of age in 2023.
In the PRELIMINARY ROUND, the contest is preceded by a video selection whose purpose is to establish a classification that will determine the participation (or not) of the candidates in the SEMI-FINAL ROUND.
The registration price for the selection of videos is 30 euros, which must be paid at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable. The registration request will be made using the form on the official website of the contest.
1.- SENDING THE VIDEO FOR THE SELECTION
The candidate must send the following video with the following works:
1.- Cadenza from the work Prelude, Cadenza et Finale by Alfred Desenclos, Ed. Leduc, solo saxophone.
2.- Fantasia 3 for Flute – G. P. Telemann 4’. (Free tone and instrumentation, with repetitions)
Each video with the recording of the works must be sent by WeTransfer to grancanariasaxfestival@gmail.com before May 30, 2023.
2.- TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE VIDEO

Resolution: 640 x 480 pixels minimum.
Format: mp4 only.
The video file must not exceed 2Gb In the video, the candidate must be fully visible at all times on the screen and the camera angle must be fixed. The candidate must be filmed in a single take. A montage of the video will not be accepted. All videos are viewed confidentially by the contest organizing team to ensure that no technical tricks have been used.
It is the responsibility of the contest organizing team to decide if a video is ineligible due to insufficient technical quality or non-compliance with the video capture rules defined above.
In this case, the contest organizing team reserves the right to ask the candidate to provide a new video. Until the end of the contest, the candidate is strictly prohibited from disseminating these videos in any medium, including social networks, under penalty of exclusion. The video is property of the Organizing Committee of the Gran Canaria International Saxophone Competition until the end of the contest.
3.- RESOLUTION OF CONTESTS TO THE SEMI-FINAL ROUND
Once the videos have been viewed by the organizing committee of the contest, the contestants admitted for the SEMI-FINAL ROUND will be published on the Festival website. The publication date will be June 6, 2023.
