Welcome on the website of the International Adolphe Sax Association (IASA).
The Association is made up of representatives of the City of Dinant.
The main goal of the Association : promote Adolphe Sax and saxophone.
Since it was first launched the Competition has been a great success, both with specialists and with a broad public: it attracted 104 candidates from 21 countries in 1994, 114 candidates from 26 countries in 1998, 134 candidates from 23 countries in 2002, and 114 candidates from 25 countries in 2006.For the 5th edition in 2010, 170 candidates have been accepted, from 33 countries and, for the first time, from all five continents.
The 6th Adolphe Sax International Competition will take place from October 25 to November 8, 2014.
The whole year 2014 will be a grand opportunity for the IASA to celebrate the bicentennial of the birth of Adolphe Sax, citizen of Dinant, man of genius and inventor of the saxophone!
